How to place a hire booking
Start with the equipment you need, the site location, the hire period and whether you need delivery, an operator or weekend support. For example, a contractor in Germiston may need a compact excavator for trenching, while a team in Pinetown may need generators and lighting for after-hours work. Once we have those details, we can check availability and confirm the best option.
For faster processing, send one clear request with the job scope and the site access details. If your project changes after the first booking, let us know early so we can adjust the schedule and avoid delays.
- Equipment type and quantity
- Site address and nearest access point
- Required start date and expected return date
- Any operator, fuel or compliance needs
- Loading restrictions, height limits or gate access notes
What deposit and paperwork are needed
Most hires require a deposit and basic account details before equipment leaves the depot. The amount depends on the machine type, the hire term and the risk profile of the job. Long-term hire or repeat clients may qualify for adjusted terms once the account has been reviewed.
We also keep the paperwork practical. Expect a hire agreement, proof of company details and the site or delivery instructions. If the equipment must work on a municipal site, a commercial build or a high-risk area, we may ask for extra safety documentation before dispatch.
- Signed hire agreement
- Company registration and billing details
- Site contact and access instructions
- Required safety docs for the project
How delivery and site drop-off works
We deliver to sites across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape from our Germiston, Midrand, Pretoria East, Boksburg, Durban, Pinetown, Cape Town and Bellville depots. Delivery is arranged to suit the site plan and the equipment size, whether it is scaffolding for a small build or heavy plant for earthworks.
Before dispatch, we confirm where the machine must be dropped, who will receive it and whether the site has lift access, turning space or load limits. If the site is sensitive to noise or municipal time rules, tell us in advance so we can plan the drop with less disruption.
- Same-day dispatch may be possible, depending on stock and route
- Operator supply can be arranged where required
- Fuel management can be included on request
- Site deliveries are matched to access and off-load conditions
Can equipment be collected and returned after hours
Yes, in many cases collections and off-hire returns can be arranged outside normal hours, especially for contractors working around traffic windows or shutdown periods. This depends on depot schedule, security and whether the equipment needs inspection before release or return.
If you need a weekend handover or a late collection after a pour, shutdown or storm repair, book it early. A small delay in return can affect the next job, so it helps to give us a realistic off-hire time and confirm who will sign the return note.
- Weekend support available on selected hires
- Off-hire collections can be scheduled in advance
- Late returns must be approved first
- Return condition is checked on collection or arrival
How we check equipment before it leaves the depot
Every machine is checked before dispatch so it arrives ready for work. Our workshop team looks at service status, tyres or tracks, fluids, safety items and any obvious wear that could affect performance. If a unit is not ready, it is swapped out rather than sent out half prepared.
This matters on site because breakdowns cost time and labour. In hot inland conditions, on coastal jobs with humidity, or where dust and mud are heavy, equipment needs proper preparation before it starts the shift.
- Pre-hire inspection and servicing check
- Safety items and operating controls verified
- Breakdown response and on-site servicing available
- Plant swop-outs arranged where needed
What happens if the machine stops working on site
If equipment develops a fault, stop using it and report the issue through the enquiry form on our contact page with the machine type, site location and fault details. The faster we get the information, the faster we can decide whether an on-site fix, a parts call-out or a swop-out is the right move.
Our fleet and workshop teams work closely on these cases. Some issues can be sorted on site, while others need the machine pulled and replaced so the job can keep moving. We keep that process practical and clear, with safety first at every step.
- Do not continue using faulty equipment
- Send the fault report as soon as possible
- Keep the machine safe and isolated
- We will advise the next step and timing
Who to speak to about a quote or follow-up
For bookings, updates and follow-up questions, our team handles each step from the Germiston base and the branch depots. Sibusiso Mthembu oversees the business, while Annelie van Wyk manages operations, Thabo Nkosi oversees the fleet, Zanele Dlamini coordinates hires, Willem Erasmus runs the workshop and Nokuthula Khumalo manages safety and compliance.
If you need a hire confirmed, extended or changed, use the enquiry form on the contact page and include the site name, the equipment needed and the dates. That gives us the detail we need to respond properly without back and forth.
